    Description
The Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) is a six-element interferometer operated by CSIRO. We are in the process of installing a new digital backend that employs a small cluster of GPU accelerators to process 8 GHz of bandwidth in real time from all six telescopes. In this talk, I will provide a brief overview of the system and discuss some of the technical challenges encountered, along with the solutions developed to achieve maximum performance. These issues are common to any “small-N” GPU correlator and are directly relevant to the use of GPUs for VLBI correlation.
